How I practiced self-care
I try my best to incorporate self-care every day but what I did, in particular, this past Sunday was shop at a Pop Up Grocery store, walk through a botanical garden, and sing at a karaoke lounge in the West Village.
Pop Up Grocer is a traveling pop-up grocery store that exhibits hundreds of products from natural food brands and is currently located at 208 Bowery in New York, NY from Sept. 20 to Oct. 20. From chocolate date spread to CBD infused sparkling water, they offer a wide variety of products. Over 150 brands, some of which you may know of, pop up grocer showcases, sustainable and innovative products that are here to stay.
Along with groceries, Pop up Grocer has a range of clean products from beauty to dog treats! Some of the brands that they have in store this month are Flamingo razors, dropps detergent pods and Fetching Fields canine treats! My favorite foods that I’ve bought and repurchased (yes I’ve been there more than once in the past 2 weeks) were MUSH Overnight Oats, KNOW Waffles and Wanna Date Chocolate Spread! Each item was delicious and guilt-free as it was good for my body, convenient to eat and produced with only natural ingredients. What I enjoyed most was the number of products that were reusable and their merchandise was the absolute cutest. I found a wide arrange of products that were affordable and reasonably priced and would recommend going before they close! Who knows Pop Up Grocer may be coming to your city next!
After a day of shopping for feel-good foods, my friends and I walked through a beautiful botanical garden that was right around the corner from Pop up Grocer. To find a botanical garden or sanctuary in the city is rare and made me feel closest to home. There were even free poetry books as people laid out on the grass having a picnic, or simply enjoying the day. Walking through the gardens and feeling the sun kiss my skin reminded me of summer nights in California which i miss even more as Fall and Winter are approaching us here in NYC.
To wrap up the night my friends and I headed to Karaoke Boho in the West Village and sang the night away. Located at 186 W. 4th St. Karaoke Boho has private rooms along with an open lounge, for nine dollars per person/hour! Plus they have Happy Hour for private rooms from 2-7 p.m. for $4.50 per person. As my friends and I belted songs from Amy Winehouse to High School Musical, the two hours we booked flew by!
Hope you enjoyed and leave a comment below of how you practice self-care!
